چکیده
A single-stranded RNA virus of the Flaviviridae family, Zika is mainly spread by Aedes mosquitoes. infection was originally thought to be a mild and self-limiting illness when it first discovered in Uganda 1947. Infection pregnant women, causes serious congenital abnormalities, including microcephaly, condition marked an abnormally small head brain size, only 2015 as result significant outbreak Brazil. Since then, has caused on-going outbreaks throughout globe, raising concerns about public health. Despite research efforts, there currently no cure or vaccine for infection, mosquito control safe sexual behaviour continue major ways cut down on transmission. It crucial maintain surveillance study order comprehend epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical outcomes create efficient prevention treatment plans.

Zika virus is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that is becoming a new global threat. Currently, serologic (ELISA) and molecular (RT-PCR) testing make the diagnosis of Zika virus infection. There is no specific drug available for Zika virus infection, and treatment is supportive based on reducing symptoms of disease. Protection against mosquito bites is the most effective way to prevent the infection...

PURPOSE OF REVIEW Zika virus (ZIKV) is an arbovirus previously believed to cause only a mild and self-limiting illness. Recently, it has emerged as a new public health threat that caused a large outbreak in French Polynesia in 2013-2014 and since 2015 an explosive outbreak in Brazil, with an increase in severe congenital malformations (microcephaly) and neurological complications, mainly Guilla...

Zika virus (ZIKV), a mosquito-borne positive-stranded RNA virus of the family Flaviviridae (genus Flavivirus), is now causing an unprecedented large-scale outbreak in the Americas. Historically, ZIKV spread eastward from equatorial Africa and Asia to the Pacific Islands during the late 2000s to early 2010s, invaded the Caribbean and Central and South America in 2015, and reached North America i...
متن کاملA Mouse Model of Zika Virus Pathogenesis.
The ongoing Zika virus (ZIKV) epidemic and unexpected clinical outcomes, including Guillain-Barré syndrome and birth defects, has brought an urgent need for animal models. We evaluated infection and pathogenesis with contemporary and historical ZIKV strains in immunocompetent mice and mice lacking components of the antiviral response. Four- to six-week-old Irf3(-/-)Irf5(-/-)Irf7(-/-) triple kno...
